Art Challenge: It’s all about perspective.
I went with super heroes for this one. My fist attempt was going to be a person standing on a bridge but I thought that was a little obvious, and I wanted a chance to retry that “magic blast” from the Action Pose challenge.

This is one point perspective. I realized when drawing this that I have never used one point before it is always two point. It’s late and I am beginning to fade. So, feel free to rip in to the guys face. (Lie) It looked better before I inked it. (/Lie) My favorite part of this picture is the woman in the far ground. She looks so cool!

So Ruby, What is this weeks challenge?

...draw a character design sheet for one of your original characters. It needs to show at least 3 different sides of the character, and details on anything more detailed. Basically everything you'd show someone who was trying to make a statue/costume of the character. (i.e. something like this: http://talesof.cyllya.com/tos/reference/characters/presea.jpg)

First: Arg. You actually HAVE correct perspective, with, like...straight lines 'n stuff. x.x;;

Second: Some details for the street(s) that I don't see but would be nice: sidewalks. Signs. Pedestrians and cars.

Third: Energy blast = win

Fourth: The guy's hair looks like it's falling up and down AT THE SAME TIME. It's not quite enough individual strands that I can make it make sense, and not quite enough a single mass that I can ignore it as a mass of hair. I think he has some silly anime/marvel hair-do that is not actually possible, but still...it draws a LOT of attention.

Fifth: A couple of anatomy issues with the guy are that you can see his shoulders straight on, but his hips and face are in profile. There should be a LOT more twisting around the neck and abdomen for that to be possible, and it is an awkward pose for someone to use...that said, it's very dynamic. More anatomy issues: his shoulder/hips ratio looks off...more feminine with the wide hips narrow waist thing. The legs and arms are both very good.

Sixth: I would like to see you experiment with weighting your lines. You're doing some really dynamic things with your composition, but your linework is a bit flat. Think about light and shadow when you ink the picture. n_n

Seventh: The girl's the right height, number of heads-wise, but she's VERY skinny...as in her shoulders and hips are only as wide as her head, instead of two heads wide at the shoulders. This makes her look stretched out, elastic like. I'm honestly not sure if you were going for that or not, since it's all super hero-ish.

Ok, you know what’s sad? I did experiment with weighting my lines on this one. I think sense you can’t actually tell I experimented this will go in to the failed experiment category.
