Art Challenge: 3 different side
This is my first noticeable attempt at using weighted lines. I think I did good.

I want to tell you about this character but I might use him as an NPC in my game.

First picture: Full Front
Kicks ass.

You can tell that I was extremely bold around the hood. It pulls your eye to his face with the enigmatic you can’t see his eyes thing. The belt sash gets your eye to move down and to the weapons. So I think it has a strong composition.

Second picture: Profile
I am so sorry

I can’t do profile. I blocked it out so many times it turned in to a graphite haze. I eventually gave up and decided it was a beginning step on the path to being able to draw profile.

Third picture: Full Back
I think the head and torso look great, I also love the legs. Unfortunately I got so involved with the legs I didn’t notice they were freakishly small on him. So when you review him please don’t be too harsh on the scale issues. But if you can tell me how to draw butts I would be grateful.

I went to Asel Art on the way home. I picked up some blue pencil led, I think RubyRedRose gave be some but I lost it. I know she handed it to me but after that its fuzzy. (Although as I type this I think I know where it is.) I also got a sketch book (another one) with rings so I can scan right from the book with out ripping out pages or doing sketch book origami. Last item I picked up was a mini portfolio to put the loose pictures in. I keep looking at the paper Ruby gave me. I want to use it so much. And finally I got some colored pencils. I might try coloring some of the old pictures.

I installed Adobe Photoshop Elements, and procreate Painter Classic. I did a little fiddling this morning and they look cool. But although I really wanted them I feel like I have been given a Harley Davidson before taking the training wheals off my bike. I am intimidated and frightened.

I can tell you how to draw butts! But (ha!) I need to use visual aids. So come to the cons so I can sketch at you!

Perhaps useful enough right now to note: The muscles which give the rear its curves, attach to the top and bottom of the pelvis, meaning they stick kinda straight out, meaning a rear from the rear has its bottom curves pointing down, not out; the profile butt is actually not bad. Men will have straight hips from the back, unless quite fat; even women, even chubby chicks like me, have straight lines along the outside muscles of the butt, with the curved hips coming from the hips themselves, fat, and some other muscles, though that's probably more detail than your style needs or allows.

Thing about legs that is not scale, and tosome extent the arms: Knees knob out over the lower leg, but blend more smoothly with the upper front thigh muscle(I know the name, you don't need to, and I am taking pains to remember that and not geek. Thank you.). Calves don't bulge along the front. That curve shouldn't be there on the front of the leg profile. Forearms do curve from most angles, but they flatten more near the wrist and start swelling out directly from the elbow.

Supplies: Good heavens, what sort of hellmouth is Dallas, that paper must be so sacred? Get thee to a Walgreens and buy a sketch pad, and use the bloody paper Ruby gave you! What, was it handmade by monks in Shangri-La?
What colored pencils did you get?

His torso is a bit long, his legs a bit short, and arms a bit long. But you know this.

About line weighting. Good job around the face and around the edges, but perhaps a bit lighter lines for the interior detailing, or heavier lines for the outline? Just to give it a bit more "pop."

About hatching and crosshatching. Love it, you should use it on more than just the shadowed face.

General advice: take a close look at how clothing is actually put together and where seams go. I'm just now starting to do this, but I've seen that it adds hugely to a beliveable outfit.

Very mysterious figure, I'm think I recognize him from the last game. *ponders*
